Gene Simmons Continues to Complain about Former Bandmates

It’s been about three decades since Ace Frehley and Peter Criss were unceremoniously dumped by their KISS bandmates — and Gene Simmons is still complaining about the pair. “They made such horrible choices in their life,” Simmons says. “And they continue to do that. They continue to make really bad choices, not just in terms of their health and what you ingest, but career choices.” Simmons’ latest verbal attack appears to stem from an invitation he and Paul Stanley extended to their ex-bandmates when “Biography: KISStory” premiered at the Tribecca Film Festival. “We reached out to both Ace and Peter,” he says. “Ace wanted certain things — ‘I want this. I want that. I want editing rights.’ That kind of stuff. And God love him, that wasn’t going to happen.” It has to be difficult for Ace and Peter to watch a band they were once a big part of enjoy continued success and also deal with Gene making comments about them all the time.
