Although Sammy Hagar buried the hatchet with former bandmate Eddie Van Halen before the guitarist’s death, he clearly has no interest in making peace with the vocalist he replaced in Van Halen. In a newly-published interview, Hagar calls David Lee Roth “a real showman,” adding, “I enjoy him.” But it all goes downhill from there. “Talk about cringing,” he says. “I can’t imagine how he feels when he looks at some of them old videos, the way he was dancing and moving, and the way he was singing live sometimes. I don’t know how he feels about all that, but I don’t think he cares.” And that’s what separates the two Van Halen singers, Hagar adds. “The difference between him and I is I sincerely care,” he says. “I care about everything I do and I care how it affects people and I care what they think.”
